For Samuel

Tonight, I am making an effort to chronicle Samuel’s happenings (AKA Arrow in the Hand). With Uncle Tony and Daddy downstairs watching the presidential debate, Samuel came upstairs and grabbed his guitar. He sat in the chair that was next to mine with guitar in hand. He laid it across his lap and told me ” Mommy, sing for you”. He then started to strum his perpetually out-of-tune guitar and sing Jesus Loves Me in its entirety. I focused all my attention on him while he sang and applauded heartily at the end–to which he was pleased and responded by pretending not to notice. Then he segued into the ABCs. I applauded again and he started to sing “1-2-3 Jesus loves me, 1-2, A-B-C” because he couldn’t remember the other words. How he loves music…then he went down and sang for Daddy.

Hahaha! I just remembered that one of his new favorites to watch since Uncle Tony has been here is Denise Austin’s workout video for Pregnant/Post Partum Women. It is so funny. He loves the music and movement. She is dressed in pink and purple with poofy hair and these 2 women who are 4 and 8 weeks post partum. They have virtually no flab…these poor women who aren’t smiling.
I get up and start moving around with Samuel until I realize that I am actually exercising and then I slow to a stop. It is a weird -somewhat- flashback feeling. He watched it twice, but now he is onto something else. Who knows when or if he will ever watch it again, but I wanted to put it down so that he will never forget. :) Love you, little boy.
